WOULD I BUY ANOTHER GLOWFORGE??? READ TO FIND OUT!
I started my journey with purchasing a Glowforge Pro and a Glowforge Air Filter on October 11th.,2020 for a total of $6879.40, see image below:
However, after having it for just over 12 months I had to spend $249.00 for a new air filter, than the camera wasn’t recognizing the material, so I had to purchase a Black Lid Cable for $19.13 on November 22, 2021, see image below and take note of the date:
Furthermore my Glowforge Pro started to experience fan issues and flames while cutting. Note this wasn’t even a 15 month old laser having these issues and since the issues continued the Glowforge Pro wouldn’t work and when it did work I was terrified of it catching on fire because of the flames and smoke that would fill the machine. Therefore this left me to open another support ticket. Since Glowforge does not have a customer support phone number the support ticket had to be done through emails. I had to email the Glowforge support multiple times to get a resolution which ended up with my only option being to send them my 1 year old Glowforge Pro back to the Glowforge Pro company and then in return they would send me a refurbished Glowforge Pro for a grand total of $769.22 , see image below and take note of the date:
As if that wasn’t enough the refurbished one started having issues with flames so again, they sent me another refurbished Glowforge Pro, however this one did not cost me money but now I’m in April 2022 when this entire process started in November 2021, see image below and take note of the date:.
5 months later I am at the point where the 3rd Glowforge Pro is on the way and guess what, issues again so I gave up on this company and their products because now the 3rd Glowforge Pro doesn’t always recognize the camera.
To end this experience I have decided to never buy any other Glowforge’s from Glowforge because in my experience I feel personally that I wasted my money on a company that doesn’t have a customer service support phone number and zero quality on the products I have purchased and used personally. Therefore, I have switched to my Thunder Nova 51/130w laser where the support and customer service is amazing.
If my experience didn’t change your mind then here is the link Glowforge wants me to share with you, thus is how I feel they keep getting more and more customers, marketing is the key to sell anything.
I feel there is enough evidence out there publicly that you can find with similar experiences or worse problems then I had so I would personally suggest you do your research before spending any money on any laser but more specifically a Glowforge. You should join some facebook groups and look up what others are doing and saying about the Glowforge machines because as of 11/08/2022 the Better Business Bureau gives them an F, you can read the complaints by clicking here.

Bottom line I would NOT buy another GLOWFORGE because I can’t spend money on a product that lacks customer support then spend even more money on products that only last me just over a year for the new one and even less time for the refurbished Glowforge Pros they sent me.
Also, Glowforge advertises ease of use and machines that are simple to use for the average person. It sure is easy enough when it works but you are subject to using only their proof grade material as well as their online platform where you are on their servers at all times. This means if a good bit of people are on their glowforge you are in a digital list of people on glowforges servers waiting your turn. If the Glowforge servers fail, you can’t work offline at all.
My Thunder Laser was interesting to get use to because it is so dialed into each project with so many options.It wasn’t difficult at all for me and there are a ton of video tutorials and help on youtube, facebook and in groups for Thunder so when I did have a question, I didn’t even need to call support. Plus, I can work anytime I want to because I’m not on anyone’s server. I can use the Lightburn software provided by Thunder for FREE to create and design anything I want to, no monthly fees to design! I can also use Ai and other software programs to design my creations then import them into the Lightburn software to cut/print. My Thunder laser is also around 3 times faster than the Glowforge Pro laser and all my parts are fixable or replaceable by me so I never have to send my Thunder laser back to Thunder for any repairs.
